Nicole Salomons is an Assistant Professor at Imperial College London in the Department of Computing. Her research focuses on developing robots that shape human interactions in complex and dynamic environments throughout day-to-day tasks. She does this by building robots that create user models and give personalized feedback for long-term skill acquisition. Additionally, she studies different ways that robots can positively influence people.
Dr Nicole Robinson is a Lecturer at Monash University in the Faculty of Engineering with the Department of Electrical & Computer Systems Engineering. Her research theme is to evaluate and improve the quality and success of human-robot teamwork. This work involves theoretical and applied human-robot interaction work in domestic and field settings, including for mobile, manipulator, mobile manipulator, humanoid and social robots. She is the CEO and Co-Founder of Lyro Robotics Pty Ltd, a deep-tech robotics company that builds and deploys intelligent pick and pack robots for order fulfillment.
Jauwairia Nasir is a postdoctoral fellow at the Chair of Human-Centered AI, University of Augsburg. She received her PhD at EPFL’s CHILI Lab, where her thesis was a finalist for the 2023 Doctoral Program Thesis Distinction. She was also an EU Horizon 2020 Marie Curie fellow at ANIMATAS. Her research focuses on adaptive social robotics, engagement modelling, multimodal behavioral analysis, and applied machine learning in educational and healthcare HRI. She is also the robotics lead at WAILabs (Women in AI), where her outreach earned her a finalist spot for the 2020 Hidden Figure Award by TechFace Switzerland. She contributes to major HRI conferences and journals, and her work on real-time robot interventions in education won the 2023 Robotics Society of Japan Pioneering Research Award at IEEE RO-MAN.
Patrícia Alves-Oliveira is an Assistant Professor of Robotics at the University of Michigan, where she leads Robot Studio, a research lab focused on creating robots for human health and creativity. Patricia’s background unifies the fields of Robotics, Design, and Psychology. She was a Senior UX Designer for Amazon Lab126 in California, a Postdoc at the University of Washington in Seattle, and has received her Ph.D. from the University Institute of Lisbon, in Portugal where she is from. Her research received 3 Best Paper Awards at the International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction, and her work is funded by NSF and DARPA.
